Lifelong Learning

A Personalised Approach to gaining Awards and Qualifications

There are no examinations throughout the Lifelong Learning programme. However, students must present a portfolio of evidence for moderation to pass the various Awards and/or Qualifications from Bronze Award to Level 1 or Level 2 (equivalent to GCSE). At each stage, students will gain certification for each area they work in, enabling them to build up a portfolio of Awards and Qualifications for use in College/Further Education or when applying for jobs in the world of work. ASDAN (Award Scheme Development & Accreditation Network) is the main awarding body that The Hereford Academy (THA) has chosen to accredit 'Lifelong Learning' http://www.asdan.org.uk/

As students progress through years 7 to 11 a more personalised approach may be beneficial (Wider Skill Opportunities)At this stage other Awarding bodies are introduced to those already mentioned above. The Prince's Trust is a charity that offers a wide range of opportunities and support. At this stage we have chosen the 'xl Model' which is a personal development programme. http://www.princes-trust.org.uk/
