my I-Plan

We are the first school in the country to use My I-Plan which is a web-based individual learning plan. It supports all our students with learning and progress, allowing them to see current and past targets set in each subject area and to record any achievements gained both inside and outside of school.

my I-Plan also supports students to create and update their CV and write letters of application for colleges and jobs.

In a recent review of the quality of provision of Information, Advice, Guidance and Careers Education undertaken by the Local Authority across the county, The Hereford Academy scored highly against the majority of the standards set nationally.

Students:

my-iPlan is a secure online environment where each student can access and input key information about themselves, their learning, their aims for the future and their progress towards them. What makes iPlan unique is that it is online, very dynamic and a complete record of each student's achievements, plans and progress.

Below are the benefits that learners will have access to:

• One secure place where students can go to view and update information about themselves
• 24/7 secure access with their own secure login to access iPlan. There is also the option of a dual login which lets you view and update information jointly with any adult involved in your learning.
• More ownership, control & motivation
• Each student owns their iPlan and has complete control, which means THEY get to decide who, from all those involved in their learning, gets access to it. Students are able to get more actively involved in the planning and evaluation of their own learning. Goals can be set and progress can clearly be seen with the feedback they receive.
• Ongoing support
• Regardless of where the student is studying or whether they move schools/colleges, the individual's iPlan will stay with them. Therefore, iPlan will assist teachers in giving each student a learning experience that is more tailored to THEIR abilities and aspirations.
• Showcase achievements
• All information is captured in one place and is validated/approved by The Hereford Academy. This can be used to show others (e.g. colleges, universities or employers) individual's achievements and future goals.
• Students can produce their own CVs! Use the dynamic CV Manager to create a high quality CV - based on all the info in their iPlan - in seconds.
