Business, Administration and Finance Diploma
The Diploma is a new and exciting qualification that will challenge and stretch learners, whether you are preparing for university or employment. It offers a mix of theoretical and applied learning, including functional English, Maths and ICT, and the opportunity to develop a specialism or take on complementary study and is being offered for the first time in 2009.
The Diploma will give learners first-hand experience of and insight into the world of work by providing opportunities for them to take part in a practical "real world" environment.
Diplomas are designed to be different as they will give young people a fully rounded education which combines theoretical and practical learning and covers all aspects of Business learning.
The Diploma is available at three levels:
| Level 1 - Foundation Level | - Worth 5 GCSE's at Level 1 (Grades D-G)
- Allows progression onto Level 2 course, employment or further education

| Level 2 - Higher Level | - 7 GCSE's at Level 2 (Grades A*-C)
- Allows progression onto Level 3 courses, including A Levels, employment
|
| Level 3 - Advanced | - 3.5 A Levels at Level 3
- Allows progression onto degree courses (accepted by universities), into employment or continuing education

The course will be delivered over 2 days a week and learners will be taught by The Hereford Academy, Riverside Training, Herefordshire College of Technology and will include work placements and applied learning with local businesses.
