Physical Education (PE)
Here at The Hereford Academy, the PE Department is successful on the field and in the classroom. The department uses innovative ways to engage and motivate pupils, so that all pupils can achieve their personal best.
PE is delivered through the curriculum (11-18yrs), through BTEC Sport or The Young Apprenticeship in Sport (Optional and at various levels) and through extra curricular activities.
At Key Stage 3 pupils in Years 7 and 8 have two 50 minute lessons per week and Year 9 pupils have three 50 minute lessons per week. Additional PE is added into the Year 7 and 8 'Project days' to make up for the missing third lesson.
Years 7, 8 and 9 will cover the following activity areas throughout the year.

All teams have regular fixtures against other local schools and our victories regularly outweigh our defeats during a season. We have a very good reputation for sporting ability within Herefordshire and have produced a number of county level athletes over the years, in a wide variety of sports. We also encourage pupils to pursue their interests outside of school and have links with a number of local sports clubs including; Leominster Netball Club, Sparks Gymnastics Club, Luctonians Rugby Club and Marden Cricket Club.
