GCSE Success at The Hereford Academy
The Hereford Academy are absolutely delighted with the results at Key Stage 4 where 86% of students have achieved 5 A*-C grades with 12% of those students passing gaining 5 or more A* or A grades. The Academy was also pleased with significant improvement in English and Mathematics with 16% improvement compared with 2009.
All students achieved at least 1 GCSE pass with Leah Gough achieving 23 GCSE passes.
Mr John Sheppard congratulated students saying, "It is a reflection of the hard work the students have sustained over the two years of examination study and also excellent support from staff and parents that has seen such a large number of students gaining qualifications that will give them a good start to further education or preferred career choice.
Mr Sheppard added "We are particularly pleased with the performance of students in the curriculum areas of Science, and the significant improvement in English and Mathematics. The following outstanding performances of individual students from the Hereford Academy: Carrie Jones with 12 A*/A grades and Jordan Threlfall 11 A*/A grades and not least, Ben Chandler, who has secured a scholarship at Malvern College.
This bodes well for the future and we wish all our students good fortune in their chosen pathways having made the very best of their educational experience at The Hereford Academy.
