The Hereford Academy Achievement Evening 2009
On the 19th November The Hereford Academy held our 1st of two annual Achievement Evenings to celebrate the successes of our students. The purpose of this first achievement evening was to celebrate the Ex-Year 11 examination results and the subject awards for Year 10 [current Year 11] and Post 16 students- Year 13 [last year's year 12].
Awards were given out to students for achievements such as 100% in Attendance over their whole school career, achieving their personal best and to high achievers in each of the subject areas.
The evening started with a welcome from the Chairman of governors- Christopher Whitmey and an address by the Principal, Mr Sheppard. The guest speaker was Steve Littlewood- Veterinary Surgeon and TV Presenter, who presented the Students with their awards. The evening was then closed with a vote of thanks from the head boy and girl, Isla McGowen (head girl) and One Makausu (head boy) and concluding remarks from Mr Whitmey. The whole evening was followed by refreshments where the students had the opportunity to show off their awards.
We would like to say a huge well done to the students for their tremendous efforts and to continue to encourage them to achieve their personal best!'
