At Level 2 there is only 1 mandatory unit and at Level 3 there are 4. On top of completing the mandatory units the student must also complete optional units. The number of optional units that you have to complete depends upon what qualification you are aiming for. At level 2 you could work towards an Award or Certificate. At Level 3 you would be working towards the Certificate or the Diploma or the Extended Diploma.
Level 2
From the Level 2 course you can either progress on to the Level 3 course or go in to work with a career in communication and ICT
Level 3
The Level 3 course can count towards UCAS points or again could help you to get employment in the IT industry.
