The Hereford Academy House System

This consists of five Houses:
London, Beijing, Athens, Sydney and Atlanta

Each House has two Captains who will help appoint Deputy Captains before Easter.
The House Captains form the Student Sports Council and work with the Director of Sport and Health and PE staff to promote and run House competitions.
The Student Sports Council also looks at the extra curricular provision across the school and makes suggestions as to changes and ways to engage more students.
House Captains are responsible for updating their respective House Boards and helping organise teams within their Houses for any competitions running.
House badges will be ordered for all students and staff in each House.
Suggestions have been made for competitions to be run in other curriculum areas. Art will run a design competition for House logos.
A sports quiz was held in assembly at the end of the autumn term and a second quiz has been requested by students for the end of this term.
Interhouse sports competitions run at the end of each term and points feed into the House totals.
Lunchtime competitions run in PE and the Wii fit leagues starting after half term all add to House totals.
The academy awards system has also been tied into the House system and points are added by students to their House totals.
New trophy to be ordered for overall House competition total, and others as needed for sports competitions.
New Boards with House running totals are in the main corridor and will be updated after this week's competitions.
