THA has been sent the attached certificate from DofE detailing the total hours our first Bronze cohort spent volunteering over the last year and the social value of those hours - 156 hours with a value of £750!

This amount doesn't include the hours our current Bronze and Silver are spending volunteering as they haven't completed their full Awards yet.

Our pupils are doing some incredible things for our school and local community, and they should be very proud of themselves!

It gives us great pleasure to invite you to attend our very first whole school production of ‘We Will Rock You (School Edition)’ with rights kindly granted by Theatrical Rights Worldwide.  It tells the tale of Galileo and Scaramouche, so-called misfits, who are trying to save the world of music from the evil Killer Queen. It features several songs from Queen which will be performed by a live rock band and our own talented pupils who have been working on this production for nearly a year. 

This production is taking place on Wednesday 19th April and Thursday 20th April 2023 at 6.30pm in the Activity Studio. Tickets cost £6.00 for a student/child (under the age of 16) and  £8.00 for an adult. Please note no secondary aged students, who are not on roll at THA, will be able to attend the performance. The cast and crew of the ‘We Will Rock You (School Edition)’ have been working so hard on this production and cannot wait to perform in April. We look forward to seeing you and hope you have a lovely evening!

Congratulations to all of the students at The Hereford Academy who took part in the World Maths Day Challenge last week.  Almost 300,000 students took part from 98 different countries and THA came: 

1^st in Herefordshire  

54^th in the UK 

262^nd in the world!

Due to the adverse weather conditions, and staff being unable to safely get to school, the school will be closed today, Thursday 9th March.  We intend to reopen on Friday 10th March.  

The Trip to Hereford Arts College is also closed.

On Tuesday 27^th September, 14 pupils were selected to attend Herefordshire girls football festival ran by the FA. After a morning of skills, the girls entered a tournament where they played St Mary's, Lady Hawkins, Kingstone and Bishops, to name a few.

Well done to all of our DofE Expedition 1 pupils 🙂 Here are some of the photos from their trip away this weekend. We're now looking forward to Expedition 2 this Friday with a new group of pupils!

We are extremely proud of our students' achievements this year; we have had our best set of GCSE results in the Academy's history.  This is yet another indication of the improvements at the Academy that have been recognised by Ofsted in our recent report.  The hard work of students, parents and staff as a community is reflected in these wonderful results, which have been achieved despite the challenges of the last few covid impacted years.  We congratulate our students and wish them all the best in the next part of their academic journey, as they leave with a superb set of results.
