CAREERS AT THE HEREFORD ACADEMY : WHAT DO WE DO ?

The Hereford Academy has fun-filled careers programme in place and all of our students participate in a lot of career based learning, events and activities throughout their time at the Academy.  However, sometimes it is easy to forget what we may do, as some careers related learning may not be easily related to ‘Careers’.  Therefore, here is a poster to remind ourselves of all the fantastic things that we do !

√ Career based Assemblies aimed at all year groups, but one a week during the autumn term for year 11 students.
 

√ Regular visitors coming in – This could be in the subject classes to embed careers into the lessons (eg STEM) or to carry out career based workshops.
 

√ Work Related Learning in PHSE lessons for ALL year groups.  These sessions are taught in an age appropriate manner.
 

√ Work Experience for year 10 students
 

√ Mock Interviews for year 11 students

√ Specific subject based workshops

√ Careers Week - All students having an opportunity of finding out more about their future options.

√ One-to-One impartial Careers Meetings with the Careers Advisor in Year 10 and   again in Year 11 if required
