• Wisepay - Important Update

  Data security incident on the Wisepay payment platform

   

  Wisepay, our payment partner for school meals and trips, have contacted us today to explain that they have experienced an illegal cyberattack which has potentially allowed criminals to access individual’s payment details.

   

  You may have experienced difficulty in accessing their site this week, this is because the site was taken offline to put additional security measures in place.

   

  We are waiting for Wisepay to provide us with specific details of any parents/carers whose accounts have been affected, however we are taking action now to contact all parents using Wisepay to inform them of the potential risk.

   

  If you have used Wisepay on or after October 2nd 2020 there is risk that your payment details including card holder name, payment card number, expiry date and CVC number could have been illegally accessed.

   

  Wisepay have advised users to be especially cautious and look out for unusual bank account activity. They also recommend taking prompt steps to pause or cancel the payment card used on the Wisepay site.

   

  They have also recommended that users change the password used to access your Wisepay account.

   

  Details on how to reset passwords can be found in the Wisepay section of The Hereford Academy website. The template letter to affected account holders provided by Wisepay is also included on this page.

  Year 6 parents, we have had to add an extra week of tours to accommodate all of the requests. We are still booking in by primary school, but our tours will now continue until 15th October. • Rotary Writing Competition

  Just a reminder of Rotary writing competition.  There are trophies and cash prizes (£100, £50 & £25) for the top 3 winners in each age category with a further £100 for the schools that the two 1st place winners attend.   The age categories are 7-11 and 12-16 years. 

   

  Students can send either a poem (40 lines max) or a piece of prose (550 words max).  All entrants will receive a certificate of participation and the winning entries will be forwarded to the Rotary District competition finals. 
   

  Closing date for the competition is 6pm on Monday 28th September 2020.

  Year 6 Parents, following our very successful Open Evening on the 16th September, we want you to come and see how The Hereford Academy has changed.  We were delighted with the overwhelmingly positive feedback from Open Evening and are inviting you to see our Academy in action.  Come and experience our calm and purposeful learning environment, come and see how our amazing teachers and students have risen to the challenges that COVID-19 has presented us with.

  • Students from St Martins have tour appointments available on 30th September and 6th October
     
  • Students from Riverside have tour appointments available on 1st October and 7th October

• Induction Days at THA

  We were fortunate to have been able to offer some 'socially distanced' induction days for our new intake of Year 7's.

   

  Each house had an induction day and have had lots of fun doing some curriculum related activities. Every student received a book and a certificate at the end.

   

  We are looking forwards to seeing all of the new intake in August for their summer school and are delighted that for this we won't be limited on the numbers of students we can take each day in each House.

  This is the opportunity to compete in some of the worlds greatest sporting events from the comfort of your own home and contribute this years final house standings.

   

  The competition details will be shared via the THA Facebook page and Google Classrooms Monday morning before 10.00am.
